Published by Okay well this has been an issue I’ve struggled with for ages. It has brought out anger and other bad emotions, simply because of the history and the craziness associated with it. Now I am going to elaborate on that just so people don’t start freaking out at their computer screens because it’s all unjustified. Blah blah..
Well anyway, religion in general is what I’ll go at in this paragraph. Of course, when everyone thinks of it they think of the glamor associated with it.. The nice Buddha statues, pretty temples, family church expeditions and well, you get the point. Well when you dive further into it, all these other nice things can pop up from the varying religious content offered by different religions and so on. Now, when you think of all that brainwashing, how much pain is caused by religion unnecessarily as well? Hm? Well when you look at the little ones like not being able to eat pork, or masturbate or having to do such and such every day, that’s not so bad it’s just annoying. “You’re wasting your seed” is what is said by priests when confronted with a confession of masturbation or whatever. (Sorry for anyone who is offended by me saying that word, I’ll wash out my mouth with soap later.) Well that’s scientifically wrong seeing as we can produce endless amounts of “seed”, not like the tank is gonna run on empty until you pass your middle ages. But anyway, this isn’t a sex-ed lecture.
How many wars and deaths have been caused by religious beliefs? How much sexist beliefs have been spawned by religions as a matter of fact? How restricting can it get? Well the crusades were pretty religious, even though I haven’t done much studying of the matter. But people will end up believing that their religion is better and like racism, it leads to terrible things.
Now, originally religions were created to explain things that we at one time could not with science. Hence, mythology. Mythology was all true to people until as time went on, we started finding answers. Now it’s just mythology. Did you ever notice that all those stories about King Midas and all these other people ended up with just a moral? Eventually it went from explaining what we couldn’t to helping people with morals values.. But somewhere along the line we lost the real reason?
Look at the pain on these kids’ faces. Look at her husband. Then at the end, look where the money went. That is what goes on in the world.
Now if you want to base everything upon something that clearly can’t exist, and sacrifice so much.. Then go ahead. But first of all, ask yourself. When the hell was it in man’s position to say that God DOES exist, let alone any god for that matter? Since when was it OUR position to claim all these stories and believe them to our lives’ end? Who are we to decide bigger things than us? It all seems nice to assume that things have happened because of something bigger than us, but right now.. We can’t even explain that so why bother. It’s causing more harm than good, obviously.
