Have you ever asked yourself maybe Muslims, Jews and Christians were just related? Here’s some interesting facts that I read in the bible which absolutely narrated that the three religion(nations) were related.

I was reading my bible the other day and found out pretty interesting facts. A situation intrigued me long ago from what my Moroccan suitor told me about. In my society, we somehow defined Islam as unique and maybe we were not told what exactly the reasons we are forbidden to have loving affairs with them. We do not discriminate them; in fact they occupy a big region of our country.

When I recall why I didn’t get involved with the Moroccan guy I think religion played a huge deciding factor. He was educated, having decent job, hot and handsome and we can connect well though the fact that he was Muslim and I am a devote Catholic (Christian) made me think it will never work out. So I stopped talking to him to sop the complications, too much for me to handle. I remembered he told me they can only marrywomen from 3 religions Islam, Judaism and Christianity which kept me wondering why.

Just an accidental thought which my friends and I opened up one time when we were watching Bruno going to Middle East in the land of the Arabs then later in the land of the Jews were he was chased. What was the difference of Muslims and Jews? Why there are Christians and how they originated. These questions were vague not only to me but two of my other friends who had similar questions in mind. We ended up the opening the bible in the book of Genesis where it accounted the story of Abraham. Brace yourself folks coz it is mind opening realization and it’s up to you to discover or believe further.

We know that Abraham is the Father of All Nations that means he was a prophet of God to start preaching about him and multiply into numbers in order to enjoy what God has created and to do well than evil. Let’s phase out Adam and Eve because Abraham was the 19th generation of Adam and Eve which is more than 1,900 years after them. Abraham is a prophet after the flood (Noah’s Ark).

Abraham had a wife, her name is Sarah. They couldn’t bear children so Sarah offered her maiden slave Hagar to be a surrogate and Hagar got pregnant. Hagar became too proud that is why she was mistreated by Sarah. She ran into the woods where an angel appeared to her and asked her to go back to Abraham and have her son called Ishmael and God will make a great nation out of him.

Years after due to faith; Sarah and Abraham had a child of their own and his name was Isaac. The bible nor the Koran didn’t account the exact reason why Hagar and Ishmael were finally outcast but it said that Sarah do not want anyone will take any part of her son’s possessions. At first Abraham didn’t like the idea because he loved Ishmael so much but later agree maybe because Sarah was his wife to respect. Hagar and Ishmael were pointed to a wilderness of Pa-ran which is now we called the Middle East. Indeed Ishmael being the founder of Islam married and Egyptian woman and had 12 sons and 2 daughters and made a great nation following to the accounts of Old Testament. Ishmael was believed to be wicked but repentant. He founded Islam where he is known to be Prophet Mohammad.

Isaac became the founder of Judaism which is now an older though rejected version of Christianity.

From the start Islam and Judaism had a lot of similarities in teachings but interpreted in their own versions of understanding. They cannot be in the same country or the same places maybe because from the origin, they had mothers who are in conflict.

Christianity on the other hand was originated by the Son of God (Jesus Christ) who was born of Mary many generations down from Isaac’s genealogy. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and a prophet to change the world into a better place with compassion, thus New Testament arose. When you read the new testament of the bible, most chapters or verses were more about love, compassion, forgiveness and the like. Those were the values that are not properly rooted in the Old Testament.

Having learned that Muslims, Jews and Christians were originated from one father (Abraham), we all believed in one same God with different terms and our own unique ways expressing our devotions and exercising our faith. I think God created the New Testament to be able to unite people who are absolutely brothers and related. And being generations governed by the New Testaments, we are taught of respect for others and we are taught to be responsible in our words, thoughts and actions. Maybe as Christians, we are different from Muslims and Jews but we cannot change the mystery behind these differences but we ought to respect it. After all, these differences made the world a better place.
