Roughing it seaside just isn’t for me,
I like boardwalks and bathrooms, and ‘brellies – you see.
Sand up the wa-zoo and peeing into the waves,
Has never – for me – been deservant of raves!
I prefer cushy chairs – or a cool bar swing,
Roughing it seaside is just not my thing!
Loungers, and life guards, and sweet slushy drinks,
Served where I sweat? That’s heaven, me thinks!
Cell service, towel service, bar service – sweet!
May I see a menu? I might – or might not – want to eat.
A little ‘tienda’ for sunscreen and shades,
A room with clean sheets, A/C – and yes – maids!
The option of swimming or sailing – or better yet – NOT,
Sunbeds placed strategically to best soak up the HOT.
Feng Shui out the window – we are slaves to the sun,
from morning till night – cause tan lines are fun!
Water aerobics at 3, para-sailing at 4,
Then siesta, of course – worshipping the sun is a chore!
Am I spoiled, I wonder - are my expectations too high?
Oops, it’s time for more sunscreen! Can someone help me re-apply?
I don’t care what anyone says – when it comes to beaches – I know!
One becomes a bit of an expert – when one lives in SNOW!
The end

This was really cool. I think they stuck your article in the wrong place though. Really good work though
Sounds great!

*I flagged it for you too*
this is so interesting.
LOL! That was great. I think I’m 50/50. I like the cushy beaches, but I also like the ones where you feel like you have a reasonable chance of drowning if you’re not careful.
I think it belongs in this category, as a good beach on a sunny day is almost a religious experience.
LOVE the comments! And – fair enough MJRapp!

A very creative poem. I love it. LOL ” sand up the wazoo and peeing into the waves.”

Interesting share here and interesting point of view. But why in this section, anyway?
Very fluid rhythm throughout the poem, and it sounds like one hell of a resort. Wish I could go.
