The earth is a blue planet. It is the only site in which living beings of innumerable forms and characteristics do live. It is thus the most wonderful experience of the human beings. How it does come into existence is a very old question. And it stands as a mystery. Mankind has essayed to unveil this mystery time and again. Concept of God has been developed in due course. Is there really any such thing that has been termed as God or god?

  • There exist differences in opinion among the people on this issue. Most of them believe that there exists an entity which is called God. They are not always successful in establishing this by reason. They just believe that there exists an omnipotent power which has created the vast universe. They just believe that this power is for the good of everything.

  • They share the idea of heaven and hell which describes that we are taken to either heaven or to hell after our death. Heaven is a place where everyone is ever happy and where the inhabitants do not experience any suffering. People who do good things on the earth and who have faith in God are taken to heaven. Hell, on the other hand, is just the opposite. People who do not believe in God and who engage themselves in evil activities during their lifetime are sure to be settled to hell where enormous sufferings have been scheduled for them.
  • Non-believers are also there. They are fewer in number. They do not conceive of anything which they cannot receive with their sense perception.  They hold different notion on the creation of the universe. Most of them are satisfied with the thought that the mystery of creation has not yet been unfolded and that people may come to learn all about this after further advancement in science. These people keep themselves away from all religious ceremonies.

  •  Religions have emerged in different parts of the earth accepting the idea of one omnipotent God. Religions are many in number. The religious heads prescribe certain codes of conduct for their followers. These codes are actually certain instructions which are to be followed in this world. These codes are the result of the evolution of human society and they are based on the conventions and traditions stemmed from bare necessities of life. For all the religions these codes are generally and greatly common.
  • But idea of God has not been equally perceived by the preachers of all the religions. Goutam Buddha was the founder of Buddhism. Buddhism as a religion has great influence in a wider part of the globe. Budhha was rather silent on the question of God.  Issue of God was not a matter of great consideration for him. He rather paid attention to remove sufferings of mankind as he had great love for them. Jesus Christ is known as the founder of Christianity. Jesus has claimed that he is a son of God. He has been introduced as the blessed son of God in the Christian literature. In Islam you will find a little difference. Hazrat Muhammad was the founder of the Islamic religion. He has claimed himself as the representative of God (Poygambar). In the soil of India one may find emergence of a few religions. Brahmanism is the oldest. Brahmanism has not been attached to the name of a single person. It has number of variations. Hinduism is the latest. Here one will find practices of idol worshiping even today. India has been the site of the ancient philosophers. They were idealists and some of them were materialists too.
  •  In this way God has remained still as a mystery and has remained as center of consolation. Image of God  has been created by the people according to their desire.
