I have seen a commentary recently attacking the Chick-fil-a organization CEO for his stance against homosexual marriage. I thought I should write this commentary in his defense. Too often these days, people who disagree with homosexual behavior are berated in the press and other arenas of society simply for speaking out. Simultaneously though, the homosexual community cries out for “tolerance” of homosexual behavior.
I have to ask, why is it that so many in society are so adamant that homosexuals should have the right to speak their minds, but if anyone (such as myself) disagrees with them, we are called “homophobic” and so forth?
Just because I disagree with homosexuals does not @ all imply that I fear them, anymore than someone who disagrees with Obama “fears” him. What we have is a disagreement with each other, no more, no less.
With that said, the CEO of Chick-fil-a is in my view a courageous soul,in a world where abberations are becoming increasingly accepted by many, there are still those (like I and the Chick-fil-a CEO) who are not afraid to say “No, this is not normal or proper”.
I Love people, and it is actually BECAUSE of my Love for people that I cannot approve of corrupt behaviors.
The Christian Bible makes it clear Jesus Loves people, and in His Love He called people OUT of the darkness of this fallen world, He never approved of people’s sin, on the contrary, He commanded them to come out of darkness and “go and sin no more”.
We all fall short of that command @ times, we all stumble occasionally, but that does not make sin (of any form) acceptable.
If we sin, we should confess and forsake our sin as soon as possible, not continue to willingly wallow in it.

I think that this issue is more complex than right or wrong. I agree with you (and with the Bible) that has God clearly told us that homosexual behavior is wrong – words like “abomination” make that very clear.
With that being said, does the Chick-fil-a CEO take a stand against people who practice other sinful behaviors? Do they allow unwed couples, or couples who are married but to other people? Do they do background checks to make sure that their clients don’t have criminal records?
I do not minimize the sin of homosexual behavior. My point is only that same sex marriage is a hot button issue right now, and those who oppose it publicly had better be ready to be raked over the coals.
It is a simple question of standing for what is right and good in Gods eyes. Either we agree with His word or we don’t. The time for straddling the fence is over. Compromising the word of God is what has lead to the The insanity that we see in this country. Over 50,000 aborted babies, the break down of the family, rampant promiscuity leading to many children growing up fatherless. Corruption in government and business. Now we have same sex marriage which is no surprise in a country that has allowed God to be kicked out of the public arena. Violence in our schools and in our homes. Is another indication of what compromise of Gods word has brought us.
If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
