Is There Really Unpardonable Sin?

All of us commit sins without any care. Now this can help you be aware of the unpardonable ones.

I usually ask myself if there is really unpardonable sin or none. Since I was young my parents told me that though I commit sins if I seriously confess it to God I may be forgiven, I put that on my mind until I heard somebody saying there’s unpardonable sin.

Upon hearing that I started to memorize my favorite text in the bible, John 1:9 says if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleans us from all our unrighteousness. From then on I never stop looking for answer of that certain question.

What is Unpardonable Sin?

Is it Murder? Many people think that if they commit murder they will never be forgiven for they’ve taken somebody’s life. But according to the bible when Moses was angry at an Egyptian beating fellow Israelites. He murdered him, yet God gave him a ten commandments and saw God’s glory in Sinai. So it’s obvious that murder is not the unpardonable sin.

Is it Prostitution? Take a look how marry Magdalene exert effort to change her life upon confessing her sins and seriously ask forgiveness, and she was forgiven. Then prostitution is not the one.

Is it Lying and Deception? Remember how Jacob deceived his father into giving him a birthright instead of Esau; and fleeing his life. God assured Jacob in a dream, that he will never leave him nor forsake thee. These days we live a deceitful life and like Jacob we try to run from God. But still he always watch us we may not seek him but he always seeks us.

Is it Denying God’s Existence? Paul the persecutor-turned- Apostle Paul. Who once delighted in destroying God’s people, became a builder of a Christian? So what is really unpardonable sin? Even denying Christ is not the unpardonable sin; for Peter denied Jesus for 3 times! But look? His tragic failure was redeemed by God’s blood.

Maybe the unpardonable is the sin we commit and never confess to God, maybe it’s the attitude of rebellion towards God. These remains unclear for me until I found the answers through God’s words.

Matthew 12:31 says “wherefore I say to you all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven, but blasphemy against the holy spirit shall not be forgiven unto men.

Understanding unpardonable sin is like understanding the work of the holy spirit in us.

Therefore I now knew that when God calls and we keep going persistently against him, surely our mind our mind will be calloused, our heart will be hardened until we can’t hear God’s voice anymore, God can still pick us up and rebuild our life we come unto him, now that we both know the meaning of the unpardonable sin let’s hear his voice together and let not hardened our heart for his words..
