Life Values

Changing the world one life at a time. Is it a goal? Or is it True Values of our Forefathers?

Given the opportunity to live life by new rules, I would make many changes in society today. To begin, I would make sure that everyone treated everyone equally. It would not matter what color you are, what your religion is, what disabilities you may or may not have. They would all have to treat each other equally and that would be that. At this point in time my ideas almost sound political what with the elections and all, but they aren’t really. They are simply values that our country once had and somehow, along the lines we have lost.

I would require respect to be a rule that all lived by. No matter how much money someone has or does not have respect would still be a requirement. No matter if they drove an old beater rattletrap car or a new model 2008 car. From the fanciest clothing to that which is bought at a second hand store or a yard sale. All would be respected.

The bully from the playground is no better than the person he or she is abusing. Why do they think they have such power? Did their parents give them this power? Or do we as victim’s give them this power?

Children would all be given the best opportunities in schooling and other activities. No matter what a child’s socioeconomic background they would all be given equal opportunity for a good solid education. If a child lived in the poorer section of town and wanted to go to a school in a better neighborhood they should be given that opportunity.

I would find a way to eradicate disease and hunger. In this world today there are many that are suffering from diseases due to lack of sanitation and poor nutrition. I would help to ease their hunger and the sadness of disease.

The Bible states very clearly that God made man in his own image. So why then are we so often prejudice and judging of others? I would stress to others that if we are created in Gods own image then we are perfect as God chose to make us.

If we want to be have friends then we need to learn to be friends. We need to learn to show each other respect and treat each other with dignity and honesty and integrity.

We are only given one chance at life so making the most of what we have is very important. Wasting it on trivial arguments and disagreements that really have no consequence to our lives 20 or 30 years from now is really quite the waste of time. Why not spend our time doing good to someone else or for mankind rather than causing arguments and disagreements in our friends and family.

Changing the world by living by new rules starts with one person, one simple act can change someone’s life forever. What choices will you make to live life by new rules today?

C, excellent article on values. The New Testament discusses this as well in James 2, about favoritism. Thanks for spreading the good news.

Preach it Sister! Unfortunately, there is a rather large obstacle called ‘human nature’ standing in the way of this way of living. Fortunately, actually Divinely, we will live in a land ruled by these values, sometime soon.
