Published by Religion is a much heated debate… Always people believing that they are right, I have yet to meet someone that thinks else. I have gotten in countless arguments with these ignorant people. Everything I say is apparently blasphemy… I am writing this because today was the argument that broke the camel’s back, someone went so far as to disbelieve in fact, proven fact, just to keep up the persona of an all powerful being. How can people be so single minded?
1959, using uranium-lead isotope dating, Clair Cameron Patterson determined the age of the earth to be 4.55 billion years (4.55 x 10^9). Subtracting the fourteen thousand years humans have inhabited the world (as the bible claims we were the first thing on earth), that puts the earth at 4549999986 years old… NOT 7 days… Let me put some proof up here… (4549999988×365) does not = 7. It is way off from 7, enough proof for you? Ok then, allow me to further burst bubbles… If god only made the heavens and the earth, then explain Mars, or Venus, or any other planet in existence. If God only made us that would mean OTHER FORCES had a hand in making them, such as a more logical idea like the laws of physics…
Every argument always ends in “You will burn in Hell” and, I just can’t understand where these people are getting this from. If god created me then he will understand my logic and will not punish me for my own nature. If god does punish me for thinking logically then he just sounds like a tyrannical lord who demands worship and complete attention.
A lot of people seem to think that just because I don’t believe in him, I will never believe and I think that everyone who does is wrong. This is a complete and total lie. If you present me proof of god, and don’t say my life or anything like that, it doesn’t make sense. If you give me proof of God then I will worship him, after all if he is real I suppose I have him to thank for all of this. But until that day when I have proof I will stick with my facts.
More on the physiology of earth, Noah, the world being flooded, and the ark… A flood on that proportion is just not possible, water on earth covers 70%. If the ice caps melted, which would require the earth to rise 10 degrees but I won’t go there, it would cover 80%, 85% maybe, maybe… NOT the entire world as suggested in the bible. And even if this was possible, how can they explain the NO evidence of such an occurrence? No ark. No massive damage to the eco system from a large flood. The ice caps still have the climate data from millions of years ago! Couldn’t have happened if they had melted for this flood… Proof enough?
What I believe religion stems from is our natural want for an answer to our existence, a few smart guys who wrote a book, and a lying woman named Mary. It makes sense, something that can explain everything while explaining nothing at all would sell a lot of copies. Instant wealth, these men who wrote the bible must have been very intelligent…
For my final point, I would like to point out… Evolution… If we were made as is, then how do you explain the Neanderthals and the Cro magnons? Each humanoid lesser evolution of us. If ever there proof of evolution it must be there. Two different races of humanoids! Neither like us, while both sharing a small number of basic characteristics. While most of our genes come from the Cro magnons, we have developed a few Neanderthal features such as their height, but we are mainly Cro magnon descendants. While the evidence is irrefutable I still keep an open mind, as I said… If God gave us proof then I would worship. Blind faith is blind ignorance. Ideology
