MORNING WALKS WITH JESUS
Of times, in the early morning hours,
once I’m up and awake,
I take a morning walk with Jesus
and we discuss the day
that lies ahead of me
and all those things I need to do
and all those things I hope, dream for…
He assures me He will guide me through
even though the way looks hard
and the climb ahead looks steep;
He assures me that He walks with me
and my each footstep will keep
safe from slipping, stumbling, falling
if I’ll just stay on His path
and any time I’m feeling doubtful
all I need to do is ask
Him for directions
and He will show me the way.
Morning walks with Jesus
sure can brighten, lighten up a day.
Jesus and I, we talk about a lot of things
as we take our morning walks
and I love these early morning hours
when we can have my Jesus talks
and admire the new day dawning,
hear the birds begin to sing,
see the sparkle of the dew drops
on the flowers of the spring
or the gem tones of the autumn leaves;
it’s somehow inspiring;
to watch the shimmer of the sunlight
through the emerald crowns of summer’s trees
or watch the winter snowflakes dance
on an icy winter breeze
that comes blowing off the mountains…
Oh such lovely sights I’ve seen;
And I share with Him my wonder,
and we just talk and talk
about anything that’s on my mind
while we take our morning walk.
Although, I’m not a practising Catholic, I’d say this is a beautiful piece of writing and a very good way to start a day anew. I’v my own, of course, these certainly won’t be it starting yelling or moaning. Thanks for sharing!

What a lovely idea! I praise the Lord the moment I wake up, but what better way to worship than to walk with Him in the glorious world He created!
