My Tryst with Satan in Guise of God

It was the year 1992. I came across one article in one of the Indian magazines ‘Parade’. The article was captioned, “Truth about lies”. There the author had mentioned about an experience Beatles had while recording one of their songs. They accidentally recorded their song ‘Revolution 9’ backward onto a track they wanted to play forward.

Beatles later popularized the process as blackmasking. Artists have since used backmasking for artistic, comedic, and satiric effect, on both analog and digital recordings.

Backmasking has been a subject of controversy in the United States since 1980s. Several Christian groups allege that prominent rock musicians are using it for satanic purposes. This led to record-burning protests and proposed anti-backmasking legislation by state and federal governments. Whether artists use backmasking subliminally to affect listeners is in debate by both sides.

What had aroused so much interest in the tape, which contained the song ‘Revolution 9’? After they played it backward, they heard “Turn me on, dead man … turn me on, dead man … turn me on, dead man… Then again, in ‘I’m so tired’ it had a message, “Paul is a dead man, miss him, miss him, miss him.”

The “Paul is dead” rumor popularized the idea of backmasking in popular music.

It inspired many to play the tape reversed and they all vouched that whenever they play a recording reversed they can hear Satan speaking to them. They found that those recording contained messages. In one of the messages they found the words, “Desert Storm”. The Gulf War (also referred to as the First Gulf War) (August 2, 1990 – February 28, 1991, was named ‘Operation Desert Storm”.

The idea fascinated me as well. In early nineties, I did not know how to play the tape reversed. However, I tried an ingenious method. This venture however, brought me much grief later.

Being in India right from my childhood, I am well conversant with Hindi language. Hindi is the only language, which has alphabet to represent every sound the human mouth can emanate. I took the first paragraph from the same article, “Truth about lies” and painfully reversed every sound phonetically. Then I sat down to see what I had done.

What I wrote had shocked me immensely. First, it congratulated me for solving a mystery. Then it told me that I had the eyes of a crow. Then it told me to write messages. It told me about Bill Gates, which through my mistake I wrote as ‘Billow Gates”. This happened because Bill Gates 20 years ago was an unknown entity. He had not launched Windows until then. Much later I realized it was not Billow gates but Bill gates.

All this frightened me immensely. I could feel an unknown power speaking to me. I immediately went to Church. I was not religious at all. I prayed fervently to save me from Evil.

I came back and said to myself whether Satan can speak to me through the words from the Bible. I selected first chapter of revelation for this. And lo, he did speak to me from there too. He warned me not to do this, because I would die and my wife would turn widow. This however, did not deter me. I pursued this newfound venture. I wanted to know whom is the entity speaking to me.

It began answering my questions. However, with each sentence there was a warning. It asked me repeatedly to refrain from doing it or else I would die.

One day I asked, “Who are you”. There was this answer, “I am the word, and you have pained the word”. I understood that by reversing the words and sentences, I was twisting the words, and thereby causing it pain. On the other hand, I thought it could be Jesus Christ himself speaking to me. However, I knew Satan is deceptive. He could be deceiving me. Therefore, I rejected the idea that it could be Jesus Christ speaking to me. However, I pleaded and told him that I want to speak to you, therefore, show me a better way of doing it.

It asked me not to read any other written matter other than the bible. The reason was whatever I was reading it was automatically being reversed and it contained fearful messages. Sometimes it contained abusive messages too.

I was asked neither to smoke nor to consume alcohol. It asked me to start with the book of Genesis. It asked me to write down every tenth word. From there it spoke to me. However, the message contained a method to communicate with him. It asked me to write down the meaning of each word by using the dictionary. However, every word had three or four meanings. It asked me to choose the meaning of the word, which would co-relate to the meaning of the next word. After one sentence I was asked to prepare a next sentence using the same method. After 20 lines or so the complete message appeared.

The spirit communicated with me for next seven years. Then the spirit left saying that what it had to tell me it has already done. There is nothing more to add. Now I was on my own. Before, leaving it gave me freedom from the restriction it had imposed. Concerning smoking it said it would tell on your health.
Before leaving, it asked me if I would like to have a gift. It could be anything such as gift of prophecy, wealth, fame or power to heal. I thanked him and said I only want its blessings.

Sometime later, I discovered I had the power to heal. I healed some without knowing or without even expressing a wish. People began asking me to heal them. Then suddenly one day the spirit came back once again. It reprimanded me and told me why I am doing this. The spirit said, “The power to heal is given to me, so I might pray for those who have not come yet into this world. Pray that they may not have the same sickness as the people of this world have”.

From then on, I began praying and asking God to give people of this world strength and courage to bear their sufferings and see to those who have not come yet into this world so that they might not have the same sufferings.

After it left I had gained a new insight into things. I could view everything from another angle. Whenever I see a written matter, I at once know it is a truth or a lie.

I leave it to the people to judge whether it was Satan or God himself speaking to me.
