Rachel’s Family Vacation To Fame

There once was a small town named Fame. Fame had many different kinds

of people and animals living there.

Rachel and her brothers were so excited about going to Fame. This was

going to be there family vacation.

“Everyone aboard?”, ask Rachel’s father. “Aboard!”, said Rachel, her

mother, and two little brothers. As Rachel’s father was driving down the road,

one of Rachel’s brothers spotted something moving in the field beside the road.

“STOP!”, Rachel’s brother shouted. Rachel’s father hit the brakes very hard. “I

am sure glad I had my seat belt on!”, Rachel said softly. “What is the matter?”,

Rachel’s father ask.”A Dear! A Dear! A Dear!”, Rachel’s brother shouted

excitingly! “Look at the rack on that big ole thing! I bet I could hang clothes on

it!”, one of Rachel’s little brothers said. “Oh my!”, Rachel’s mom said. “Hang

clothes on it, Hugh?”, replied Rachel’s father. “Can we keep it?”, ask one of

Rachel’s little brothers. “No son. We cannot keep the Dear. We have to start

moving on down the road, if we are going to make it to Fame on time. O.K.!”,

Rachel’s father said calmly. “O.K.!”, everyone replied.

As the day turned to night, Rachel’s family had finally reached Fame.

“Population 1230!”, one of Rachel’s little brothers said.

“I am going to go and get a room for all of us to sleep in tonight, then I will

be right back.”, Rachel’s father said. “O.K.!”, everyone replied.

Rachel’s father finally came back and took Rachel and her family to their

room. The room was nice, and smelled like a lavender flower on a spring day. It

was full of nice golden tone furniture, and the beds were high above the floor with a

floral curtain hanging around them, floral print on the bedding

of the beds, and the T.V. was as big, if not bigger than an elephant. Rachel was so

happy her family came to Fame for their vacation.

Rachel heard someone in the background talking. She turned and looked

and no one was there. Rachel went to her mother, and ask if they had company

or something? “Why do you ask, love?”, Rachel’s mom replied. “I heard, or

thought I heard something or someone talking in the background. Oh well!”,

Rachel said, as she went out to swim in the swimming pool with her little brothers.

“Twenty more minutes and we are all going in, cleaning up, and getting pj’s.’s on!

O.K.!”, Rachel’s father suggested. “O.K.!”, said everyone. Time was up, and

Rachel and her little brothers went to their hotel room, cleaned up, brushed their

teeth, and put their pj’s.’s on.

“Light’s Out!”, shouted Rachel’s mother. “Time to get some sleep now!”,

Rachel’s father said. “We have a new day ahead of us in the morning, and I want

everyone to have a good nights sleep!”, Rachel’s mother said.

“Goodnight Mom and Dad!”, Rachel and her little brothers shouted! “Good night

loves!”, Rachel’s mom replied as she shut their light out. “Good night kids!”,

Rachel’s father said softly as he was dozing off into dream land. Rachel’s eyes were

heavy themselves, and she was getting really sleepy. She turned her head and

looked over at her little brothers, they were a sleep already! “I sure wish I could go

to sleep that fast!”, Rachel said softly as she rolled over on her stomach and shut

her eyes.

The entire family was sleeping pretty good. Snoring was abundantly

feeling the room, and snorts were coming out of one of Rachel’s little brothers. The

wind was calm outside, and the stars were twinkling in the sky.

Rachel finished saying her prayers to God quietly, and finally went to sleep.

The morning was here, and the sun was bright. Rachel yawned and

stretched as she woke. Her brothers were still sleeping, and Rachel decided to let

them rest. She was going to get dressed and explore the hotel. Rachel brushed her

teeth, combed her hair, and put on her brown shorts and pink t-shirt with her Nike

tennis shoes. She was ready for the world, even though the world might not be

ready for her. Rachel giggled at the thought, an easily opened the door to the hotel

room her family was staying in. It creeped a little, and Rachel wondered if the door

needed to be oiled. Rachel thought she would mention that to someone at the front

desk of the hotel. She quietly closed the door, and went on her way down the hall.

She could see a lot of the hotel residents waking up for the day, and Rachel found

them interesting to watch, even though her mom told her it was not polite to stare,

so Rachel sighed and went on to see if there was breakfast somewhere. She knew

her tummy was getting hungry due to the noises it was making. As Rachel went on

her way, she found a lady cleaning a hotel room. Rachel ask the lady if there was

breakfast somewhere. The lady grinned at Rachel and said it was on down the hall

and to the right. Rachel thanked the lady, and off she went down the hall, to the

right. She saw they had a big buffet of fresh cut-up fruit layed out, with donuts,

juices, muffins, cereal, and even packets of oatmeal. Rachel was amazed at all the

great food choices. She thought to herself, WOW! What should she have?

Rachel was having a hard time deciding, when a woman’s voice whispered

fruit and juice in the background. Rachel turned around to see who was talking to

her. As she turned, there was no one there! All she seen where two men sitting at a

table eating there breakfast, so Rachel decided to walk over to the men and ask

them if they said anything to her. As Rachel walked, she heard a soft lady’s voice

ask her if she was hungry or not? Rachel turned back around. There still was no

one there! Rachel got scared, an excited at the same time. Could this hotel be

haunted, Rachel thought? No way it could be, Rachel told herself. She knew that

her parents had taught her there was no such thing as ghosts and hauntings. But,

this was the first time Rachel ever had an experience with voices and no one to see

who made the voices. This is really weird, Rachel thought as she turned around, an

got her some fruit and juice. As Rachel was finishing her breakfast, she heard the

same voice ask her if the food was good? Rachel turned back around and started to

look all around her. Still, she saw nothing. No one was there! The two men who

were eating at the other table were even gone! Now, it was time for Rachel to find

the desk clerk, and tell her about the creeping door, and go back to her family’s

hotel room. This is getting to weird for me, Rachel thought as she was throwing

away her trash from breakfast.

As Rachel was walking to the hotel clerks desk, she heard the same voice

again asking her if her breakfast was good? Rachel ignored it, and kept walking.

When she arrived at the desk, the hotel clerk ask her if she needed some help?

Rachel replied, “Yes, and Thank You for asking! The door to our family’s room is

creeping really bad! Do you think it might need to be oiled?” The clerk smiled at

her and said, “You may be right Miss! A lot of these doors are creeping! It could

be the woman who walks the halls looking for her daughter!” “What are you

talking about?”, Rachel said nervously. The clerk leaned over the hotel counter,

and told Rachel of a story about a woman and her daughter who had checked into

the hotel to stay the night, when a horrible thing happened. Then, the woman’s

daughter went missing, and no one could find her. Finally, the clerk told Rachel

that the woman would not leave the hotel. She stayed there for the rest of her days,

looking for her daughter day and night. Rachel thought maybe this clerk was

making this story up, when the clerk said, “Here is a picture of the mother who’s

daughter went missing. The hotel manager, at the time, took it from an old

newspaper article.

This hotel keeps it hanging on the wall to remind all parents to keep an eye on their

children, so nothing like this happens again. That is why it is a rule of the hotel’s;

children should always have a parent with them at all times. Where is your

parents?”, the clerk ask Rachel. “I am going to meet them in the family hotel room

right now!”, Rachel shouted! She ran as fast as she could back to the hotel room,

opened the creeping door, closed it as quietly as she could, and went to check on her

little brothers. They were up and and getting ready for the day, with no thought of

what happened in this hotel at all, Rachel thought to herself. “We better keep it

that way!”, Rachel said quietly to herself as she walked in to see her parents

for the morning.
