In search for inner peace
It takes a lifetime to appreciate that our outside activities are not really all that there is to life. Now that I have passed my sixties I value peace, solitude and silence much more. I cherish these values and am in pursuit of them.
The only important journey is our inner journey
Once can be as busy as a bee and yet find little satisfaction in life. It is not the material things that make us happy. Only when we turn on the inner way to our core and search for God do we get some satisfaction. And yet the hunger to find our innermost self and peace with God consume us as it were. As a monk I have lived a spiritual life all the years since I entered the monstery. And now that I pursue the inner journey with all my heart I know I am on the way to God.
So what can we do in order to find inner peace
We can leave some of the things behind that do not really have anything to do with our soul, our search for the devine. There is no happiness without finding God. There is no love except in him. We all know what is keeping us from the true values and from the things that are most important in life. Lastly we cannot serve God if we do not put him first. And he cannot help us much unless we acknowledge his love to us.
