Bible history should be allowed in public schools. Learning the Bible and the history behind the stories is a good way to expand a persons knowledge. It is beneficial in today’s society, because with so many versions of the Bible and religions, things can get confusing. Taking this class does not mean a person is devoting themselves to the words of the Bible or God himself, but just the study of the Bible academically.
There are many benefits to understanding the Bible for instance, ignorance would not be among some people in today’s world. Teens today should be exposed to the Bible if they choose to, because not many teens have the opportunity to learn and understand the detailed information, and complexity of the Bible. Some may disagree with this statement, but why should Bible history be abolished from public schools, when students may choose to select the class as an elective as they please?
In Bible history, their is no discrimination against race or religion. The Bible does not judge anyone. In class students learn the literature, language, translations, dates, and history of the Bible. Students are able to give their opinions and their perspective of what they know about the Bible and its history.
Bible history is an extremely important class, with lots of historical facts to learn. I believe taking this class will not only help someone to better understand the Bible, but also to help them to become more open minded.
