Published by Majority of the people in this world believe in God. However, nobody knows what exactly God is. Many people would say that God is the creator of the universe. But not many would stop to think who created God.
I am not going to make any matter-of -fact statement. Maybe God exists or maybe he does not exist. However, I am very curious to know why people believe in God.
Personally, I consider the reason as rather psychological. It seems that people just want to believe in a God. The belief in a creator gives people some comfort and consolation. Otherwise, people feel emptiness, a vacuum. When they believe in God, people feel something meaningful. Now, their life has some value.
The disbelief in God arises out of the belief. Atheism is only a reaction to theism. If nobody bothered about who created the unievsre, then there would have been no atheist. Atheists are not necessarily right, because there is no way to prove that there is no God. Atheism and theism are more like two sides of the same coin, because both believe in God or no God without any proof.
In my opinion, the belief in God is not necessary in modern society because modern society has so much to offer. In our societies, we are living a rich and luxurious life. There are sports, tours, vacations and many other type of entertainment. When there are so many things to distract us from the stress in life and day-to-day worries, God is not a need. I have a feeling that when human civilization goes on progressing and becoming richer and richer, there will soon come a time when there will be none who will believe in God.
