“If God did not exist then everything would be allowed.”
From the beginning of humanity man believed in Gods and spirits (supernatural forces) that helped them to understand this world and how it functions. The word “religion” came from the Latin word “religare” meaning “to join” ¬to join man and God¬ and also “religio” which can be translated as “adoration”.
Therefore religions can describe as a system of belief and practices among a group of people socially. What is a belief? Well, it’s an idea or thought that we accept as being true. The belief of people varies and can be ridiculous at some times, e.g. if I lie my tong will get cut, and superstitions such as when we go home at night we must not enter our house from the front door, etc.. Or some more serious and complex idea on life after death.
We must not forget that religion is a free choice! And that everyone can choose and accept their belief. For our reality, our success, fear, joy, and happiness all depends on our belief! So make the right choice!
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard of it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumoured by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in you religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers or elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conductive to the good and the benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.
God bless you all. Enjoy Life.
