Published by To date, I don’t believe that anyone was put on earth to do nothing. Even rocks have a function, not that I know what all of them are. Everyone has a purpose. Take a drunk person, for example. While he (or she) is passed out on the ground, he is teaching something about the evils of drink. There are paralyzed persons who (through the miracles of computers, etc.) are contributing and being assets. Why even the lowly cock roach serves a purpose. Aside from being targets for shoes and bug sprays, the roach definitely teaches us about cleanliness.
Many years ago, I just could not figure out why I was alive. I was just another drunken clerk and the world wouldn’t miss me. So, I proceeded to do all the right things to keep me from waking up the next morning. Someone in the higher echelon had a different idea. From all that I have read, GOD doesn’t make nor have time to make junk. Plus, all junk started out as useful material. I figure I have a purpose on this earth, although I’m not completely sure what it is. Maybe my purpose in life is to search for my purpose in life, then I can rest. But, if (like the knight in El Dorado) I must spend my life in search of a city of gold, I just hope I have the good sense to stop and enjoy some of life along the way.
