Nearly everyone has heard or read “Footprints”.

Remember?  It goes something like this:

I got to Heaven and looked at the earth and all along my life I saw two sets of footprints. When I asked God about it, He said He had been walking beside me. During the darkest times of my life there was only one set of footprints. When I asked God what happened, He told me,”That was when I carried you”.

My 11-year old son added something:

I continued to look back over my life.  Puzzled, I turned to Jesus.  “Lord,” I said, “I understand, now, the reason why sometimes our footprints walk side by side, while at other times, only one set of footprints can be seen.  But why,” I asked, pointing to several different places in the sand, “Do the footsteps seem to stop, then suddenly prints can be seen scattered every where?”

His laughter came to me, rich, warm, and quietly familiar.  “Why, child, have you forgotten so soon?  Those are the times we danced!”
