Published by As children we are usually made to follow the religion of our parents but this may not mean it is the right one for us. I believe children should be allowed to pick whichever religion feels right to them.
There are many religions in the world beyond being simply Protestant or Catholic.
Wicca has been growing in popularity over the last five years especially amongst teenagers. While it has a lot of bad press, Wicca is actually a nature based “religion” in which practitioners revere the natural world and are taught to respect others as anything they may do will come back on them threefold.
A lot of young girls will be drawn to Wicca believing they will be able to cast love spells or turn their luck around by magic. There are spells involved in Wicca but if you are expecting a bang and a puff of smoke revealing the man of your dreams a’ la Charmed or Sabrina then you will be disappointed.
Spells are positive incantations or mantras that help the person to focus their mind on achieving their goals but they have to work at it too, meaning if you want your dream job a spell is useless if you don’t turn in the application form!
Other religions that are popular amongst celebrities are Buddhism and Kabbalah. If it is right for the individual then they should embrace it. People underestimate how important faith is to us as humans.
So if you feel that your religion is the wrong one for you then take a look at the world around you, and see what there is. The important thing to remember is that is does not matter which faith you follow so long as you have faith.
