I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against Him, until He pleads my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me forth to the light; I will see His righteousness.

Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. Are you willing to do this?

Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me – Psalm 50:15. This is the assurance from God. Do you call on God when in trouble or you apply your wisdom first?

“A righteous soul is a peculiar object of God’s affectionate regards; and therefore will be a subject of continual blessing” according to Adam Clarke. Are you one of them?

“Works of charity must be hidden from even our nearest relatives, who, if they knew, would hinder us from doing what God has given us power and inclination to perform” – Adam Clarke Commentary.

Most people desire to make heaven but not all are willing to pay the price. You must have to Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. So says Paul.

There is something worth of mention about God. It is only God that remembers mercy in the midst of judgment. We have in the scriptures evidences of God’s mercies and compassion. When Solomon sinned, God remembered the sure mercies of David and held his judgment till the days of Rehoboam. He is our stronghold in the days of trouble.

God did not just create man because he wants to answer a creator. He has reasons for doing this. He sat and thought about it. In the same manner, he has brought you into the New Year for a purpose. He did not just grant you the grace of seeing 2013 because he wants the number to be complete. He has a purpose of preserving your life to see this year.

God will put his Spirit in us just to keep the heart of flesh alive, the feeling heart still sensible, the loving heart still happy. I will put my Spirit, the great principle of light, life, and love, within you, to actuate the new spirit, and to influence the new affections and passions; that the animal spirit may not become brutish, that the mental powers become not foolish.

Who are those poor ones in our community? Can you identify them? What are your plans for them? What is the plan of our churches today to help the poor? Are you in the group that close their eyes to the need of the poor?
