We have just celebrated Christmas 2012. For those of us who chose to, we attended some sort of Christian religious service commemorating the birth of Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah. We decorated our homes and yards. We celebrated with feast and merriment. We decorated our trees and hung our wreaths and mistletoe. We sang the old and loved Christmas carols and other holiday favorites, sent out greeting cards, had parties, and waited not so patiently for Santa Claus hoping all our Christmas wishes were granted by that jolly old elf. Some of us may have even made a birthday cake for Jesus. Most of us did not. What is Christmas all about anyhow and what are we really celebrating?
