I had to make sure I was prepared for the backlash that could stem from writing this article. It’s long overdue, but I’m ready now. The premise is this: What the right-wing labels as socialism and redistribution of wealth is actually one of the basic principles of the Christian Church illustrated in the Bible.

Politics. Touchy subject. I feel that we are heavily influencing our future generations with our own ideas. What we are forgetting is how important it is that they are allowed to grow up with the ability to think critically and make their own decisions.

We constantly receive email about candidates running for office that claim to be factual, but we don’t verify. We just pass them on as if we have. As Christians, are we bearing false witness by keeping the lies going when we forward these emails?
