Understanding the Lord’s Supper

In the Bible, Jesus instituted two sacraments. The first was baptism. This was performed once as a sign of the beginning of life as a Christian. The second was the Lord’s Supper. This was performed repeatedly as a sign of continuing fellowship with Christ. Through baptism, believers confess their unity with Christ in His death and resurrection, and that union continues through the Lord’s Supper, which foreshadows the banquet at the second coming.
