Most people will help others in need if given the chance. However, there are people who help TOO MUCH, i.e., they go way overboard to help others, even at personal risk. And we also have (too many) others who are selfish and lazy and would rather "not get involved" and would rather do nothing, or, continue doing whatever they were doing, than assist someone. Where do we fall in the spectrum of overzealous to selfish sloth?

Most times in life, if we just do the little things to and for others it not only helps them, but helps us and makes us a better person. I wish for that in me!!

Surely every mature true Christian will say that their greatest reward for following Christ will be Christ Himself. Nonetheless, we have a multitude of blessings in this life if we remain faithful to Him.

To believers, goodness and mercies are like two bodyguards following them daily, bringing up the rear as grace leads. These two Guardian Angels do not fail. Goodness supplies our needs while Mercy blots out our sins.

Obedience is is the key to receiving any thing from God. "Obedience to God is the most infallible evidence of sincere and supreme love to him" -Emmons. We should obey God in all things for He knows the best for us. Quarles says "Let the ground of all religious actions be obedience; examine not why it is commanded, but observe it because it is commanded. True obedience neither procrastinates nor questions."

Considering the goodness of the Lord towards us, it is our duty to obey and worship Him since we cannot we pay monetarily for all He has done though it does not equate his deeds towards us. All we need to do.
