In times of great need why does God seem to have left us entirely?

While many enjoy the holidays each year, there are some that dread them, perhaps even hate them, for numerous reasons. There are times that even those with the most positive attitudes meet with negative experiences during festive days, and come away from those times with at least a sour taste in their souls.

Sooner or later, we will all face predicaments that will make us wish we were never born. What do we do in such situations?
