A Stranger in This Land

The dictionary has this to say about the word stranger.
•( stranger to) a person entirely unaccustomed to (a feeling, experience, or situation) : he is no stranger to controversy. Jesus was the stranger that came to seek and to save the lost sinners of the world. He did it because "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16 KJV).

In fact, the traditional date of Epiphany, January 6, often passes unnoticed in our churches. Yet it has implications for all people, even outside the Hebrew tradition and faith.

While many rejoice upon hearing of a birth, no matter where that child is or who their parents are, they enter into a world tainted with sin and join the rest of us who have a sin nature. Yet, just over 2000 years ago, at the right time, God intervened to correct this otherwise hopeless situation.
