The Book of First Corinthians is a letter that the Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth and not to just the church which is at Corinth, but to all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their’s and our’s. In this letter the Apostle Paul by the Will of GOD addresses serious issues concerning the church of then and of now, which address sin problems and divisions among the congregation. Both warnings and instruction is given to all members of the Body of Christ to resolve these serious issues.

The Last Temptation of Christ: A Reflection

I am human (or maybe a daughter of God). I have these wavering thoughts about His existence. Part of me is a believer, part of me is not (or maybe it is just the voice of Satan questioning). This article is about what I like and hate about the movie as a believer (or not).

Forgive Us Our Trespasses…

Sometimes, no matter how much we really want to, we just can’t get it right. We do all of the things we think we are supposed to do and in our minds we have all of the information we need to make the right decisions. But when the flesh is confronted with a choice, sometimes we just don’t do the right thing. Even when we know, without a doubt, that what we are doing is so far from what we should do that it shouldn’t even be an option. If you’ve been there, you know how hard it is not to completely beat yourself up when you’ve made a mistake of gigantic proportions. If you haven’t, maybe what I’m about to say will make your next big mistake a little easier to recover from.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting Nothing.

The worst thing we can do to ourselves is to allow our unbelief to creep in and steal our hope for the future. When we expect nothing, well, we get back exactly that. To expect the favor of God is to expect for the best of the best to come into our lives and for the blessings He gives to overflow. But when we fail to believe that He truly wants to bless us, we fail to have positive expectations and this leaves us wide open for satisfaction…the satisfaction of receiving exactly the nothing we have hoped for.

The Early Saints Suffered

We must also willingly suffer anything to please God, in our goal to obtain His kingdom. Paul wrote this to the Philippians (1:29). "For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake." Paul wrote that if we suffer with Christ, we shall reign with Him as well. "If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us." (2 Timothy 2:12) Paul said, "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."

My Ash Wednesday Today

Ash Wednesday reminds me of a lot of things in my childhood. Loved ones who used to be with me as a child are not the same people who are with me today.
