Why would one need to know about the theology of the pope? Is it because he’s one of the considered greatest theologians to this era and that people come to him to listen and to learn? Well, perhaps. Is it because it is essential to one’s salvation in the sense that it clearly shows the way and sheds light? Hardly, I think. Or is it because just as the CEO of a multi-national company runs his institution according to his fundamental beliefs on management, business ethics and human resources – among others – the Pontiff would also steer Peter’s bark according to his theology? More reasonably, I would answer to the affirmative.
