What is valid in a sermon?
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God” Romans 8:14-15.
This is about a story I heard while in a vacation bible retreat at lake arrowhead as a kid.
Have you ever wondered what might be the silent common prayer of men the world all over? I think it would go something like this: “thank God for not making me a woman”. In the context of world performance so far, men are probably right to pray thus. Myth, history, religion, governments and individuals are on record as having treated women as indeed “the opposite sex” rather than the “neighboring sex”. The world “ opposite” is in itself is a tacit acknowledgment of a secret distrust and resentment that men seem to harbor against women from the time of Adam until now.

Our God is the God who knew us, acting like us, but with no sin, thinks more than us, and does the impossible for us.
What kind of gift would God give?

Adam was created in innocence. He had no antagonism presented to him. Of all the creatures he named, none of them provided him with the opportunity to become perfected. Adam labeled everything, yet nothing he labeled, would have tested him. So God made woman.
